Columbia Gas and Electric Corp. was founded in 1987 by Bill and Ellen Abbott.

We are a family owned and operated propane company servicing both residential and commercial clients in the communities of Columbia, Rensselaer and Dutchess counties. We do not require our customers to sign contracts and we offer low prices and quality service guarantees on all installations and service done by our company.  In 2017 management changed hands to The Abbott's grandson, Paul and his wife, Amber. Paul and Amber hope to continue the Abbott's legacy of high-par service and customer satisfaction in the office and out in the field.  At Columbia Gas and Electric our customers are like family and we always look forward to welcoming more people into that family.
